Recommendations/Notes: Accelerating Scholars tutor training modules were created with volunteer and external tutors in mind. The modules are meant to provide tutors with the basic information necessary to get started with tutoring sessions. The general modules detail communication expectations, how to access support from the Accelerating Scholars team or school-based tutor leads, access and use the web-based tutoring platform, and the basics of student privacy and protection. Tutors also complete curriculum-specific sessions for the grade(s) and subject(s) they will tutor. These modules cover how to access and use the specific curriculum materials provided. MNPS staff members complete a similar asynchronous training through Schoology and the district human capital management system.
